Fagus by moonlight
Nothofagus Gunnii, or Deciduous Beech, puts on a magnificent display. Here, well after dark at almost 8PM, a full moon and an exposure of nearly 5 minutes produced this image. The focal point in this narrow depth of field image is the centre of the bush, which I set by torchlight prior to exposure.
The peak in the background is Marions Lookout, in central Tasmania, being flanked by a few star trails, and slowly being consumed by the cloud.
Taken with a Nikon D200.
