Life now and then
A different take on another image of mine -
In Tasmania’s highlands, the vegetation can be covered by snow for long winter periods.
Here on Mt Campbell near Cradle Mountain, the Coral Lichen (Cladia retipora) dominates the ground cover among the rocks, while the confused and twisted remnants of an old alpine shrub are a testimony to the harsh environment here.
And still, the green leaves of living plants show that although tough, life will persist.
